Just after our lunch one of my colleagues told us about a man who cut his fathers head and cook it. Since he only heard it from FM station he can't tell us more of the details so after we get back to the office I did visit some of the local online news to get more details on it.

"Crazy man axes parents,cooks father’s head

ROXAS City – A mentally-ill man axed to death his parents and cooked the severed head of his father early morning yesterday in Brgy. Linampungan, Pontevedra, Capiz.
Neighbors knew of 25-year-old Ferdinand dela Vega’s mental state but, they confessed, nothing had prepared them for his grisly crime.
Dela Vega repeatedly hacked his 56-year-old father Federico and 66-year-old mother Editha inside their house around 7 a.m. He beheaded Federico then cooked the head.
Dela Vega even seasoned his father’s head with salt and other seasonings, a relative who witnessed the incident said.
Police found Editha’s head fractured. Federico’s headless body was found on the kitchen floor.
Recovered from the crime scene were a 17-inch axe, a 12-inch knife and a 20-inch bolo.
The shaken relative who witnessed the crime said dela Vega placed his father’s head inside a pot of boiling water cooked it for some 20 minutes.
He also claimed to have seen dela Vega tasting his concoction.
Renato dela Cruz, 35, a neighbor and nephew of Editha, said he saw nothing unusual at first when the dela Vegas started their morning yesterday. Federico, a barangay kagawad, was at the backyard tending to his plants while Editha was fixing their bed.
Dela Vega came to his mother and asked for a glass of milk, dela Cruz said.
Editha obliged. She went to the kitchen. But as she was preparing the glass of milk, dela Vega all of a sudden hit her head with an axe.
Dela Cruz said his cousin repeatedly axed Editha, who fell on the floor and eventually died.
Federico, noticing something unusual inside the house, entered through the kitchen where his son was already waiting.
Dela Vega axed his father to death, too, dela Cruz said. To cut the old man’s head off, dela Vega used an espading (a bolo used to cut sugarcane).
The son then put his father’s head inside a pot and boiled it. He seasoned it with salt and other seasonings, dela Cruz said, and would taste the brew every now and then.
Dela Cruz also said his cousin was singing while cooking his father’s head.
Dela Cruz said he could do nothing but watch helplessly. He was afraid dela Vega would attack him, too, should he try to stop him.
Then he remembered former Sangguniang Bayan Member Armando Blasurca, and phoned him. A few minutes later, Blasurca arrived and neutralized the suspect.
The dela Vegas were tenants of Blasurca.
Dela Vega was taken to the Pontevedra police station.
An elder brother of the suspect, Carlos, confirmed that Ferdinand was indeed mentally-ill and in fact underwent treatment in 2003 at the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan, Iloilo.
A few days ago, Carlos said, Ferdinand asked permission from their parents to go to Manila with some relatives, but he was turned down. - PanayNews"
